Hudson Gardens in Littleton transforms into a glowing Halloween wonderland, with thousands of hand-carved pumpkins and larger-than-life illuminated displays lining the paths. This is the South Metro’s signature glow event, a fun option for families, couples, and anyone who appreciates a little Halloween artistry, and close enough for a weeknight outing.

Through November 1

Enjoy Halloween thrills alongside amusement park rides at Elitch Gardens. Fright Fest combines seasonal entertainment with spooky attractions for visitors looking for an action-packed outing.

A Halloween Saturday Game Plan 🗓️

With Halloween on a Saturday this year, here is how I would map out the day in the South Metro:

  • Afternoon: Let little ones warm up their costumes at Mall-O-Ween, an easy indoor outing.
  • Early evening: Neighborhood trick-or-treating. This is what South Metro Denver does best. Streets throughout Greenwood Village, Centennial, Lone Tree, and Littleton go all out with decorations and candy. If you’re new to the area, ask your neighbors or check local community Facebook groups for the streets that draw the biggest crowds.
  • After dark: Older kids and adults can head to a haunted house, or take in the glowing pumpkins at Hudson Gardens.

Celebrate Beyond Halloween 🌼

Día de los Muertos | Thornton

November 1

Keep the celebration going with Día de los Muertos festivities at the Thornton Arts & Culture Center. This cultural celebration honors loved ones through art, remembrance, and community traditions.
